turns out the kids will help, if you assign them the task of squirting the cleaner spray, and hand them a swiffer duster. you may or may not end up with surplus cleaner, but oh wells

this is fairly standard. I made agreement with the wife early on that if I were to let the kids eat in the car I would have to ensure they were always clean

I would rather the kids not eat in the car, but I get overruled every time, and then I get to clean up the mess.
